Logos Language Institute is a language school located in downtown San José, Costa Rica’s capital city. San José is located in the Central Valley, so in whatever direction you look, you will see big beautiful blue and green mountains.
We’re located in a calm and nice area right in the heart of the city in front of a park, a boulevard and a big old catholic church. Within easy reach of the school you will find banks, restaurants, malls, stores, supermarkets, public offices of various sorts, cinemas, parks, bus stops frequented by busses going everywhere in the country and whatever service you might appreciate to be able to have access to at short notice.
Logos exists since 2004 and we receive students from all over the world who come to learn Spanish and travel in Costa Rica.
At Logos, we offer individual classes (for people who want to learn at their own pace) and group courses for beginners, as well as intermediate and advanced students. In order to be able to give you a maximum of individual attention, the size of classes is limited to 5 students, however, the average actually turns out to be 2 or 3 students per class in most instances. Our courses allow students to attend class for as long as they wish with a minimum duration of one week. Courses start every Monday.
Our goal is to not only teach the language in an effective way, but to make learning fun as well!
Our classes are creative and dynamic - with varied activities and resources and very interactive.
Our language courses have a conversational focus although this isn´t at the expense of covering the grammar, which is taught in a very practical way.
Also we offer home stays with nice Costa Rican host families. This will allow you to practice Spanish not only in the class but at home, too. You’ll see how you’ll learn a lot of spontaneous Spanish for the daily life just by spending time with your host family and sharing your experiences with them. We also offer other lodging options like apartments, furnished flats, hostels and hotels. Just let us know what option you prefer and we’ll help you to find what suits better your needs and likes.
We work in cooperation with international volunteer organizations as well, that send their volunteers to Logos, where we arrange everything for them here in Costa Rica: Full board home stay, volunteer work placement, transportation, Spanish classes, etc.

Our goal at Logos is to make sure that our students and volunteers will not only learn the language and offer their help, but also have a wonderful time.
We’re happy to have the possibility to assist people from all over the world to acquire a level of mastering the language chosen that will help them in their lives that will help them to travel easier by being able to communicate, to find new friends and relationships, to get more work opportunities.
At the same time we commit ourselves to our students and volunteers, making sure that they will fully enjoy their stay and gain a memorable experience for life!
At Logos, we also receive volunteers from all over the world. Volunteers of all ages come to help either in San José or other provinces. We have volunteer work positions in public schools, social daycare centers, soup kitchens for children, orphanages, elderly homes, churches, with social organizations, with environmental organizations, in national parks and protected areas, etc.
We also offer internships in schools, daycare centers, hotels, small and big companies, etc., so you can let us know your field of interest, study or work and we will find the best position for you.
So, whatever country you come from, whatever language you speak, no matter what age you are or what occupation you have, whether you have no, little or more advances levels of knowing Spanish or whatever other language among the ones listed above you might want to learn...
